[001] Sintesi a colori. Tecnologia, arte e design dal 1945 a oggi

Sintesi a colori. Tecnologia, arte e design dal 1945 a oggi, is an exhibition curated by the Italian Technology Hall of Fame and Fondazione Garuzzo, in collaboration with Carlo Massironi and Pietro Camardella (CoKama Collection). The exhibition will run from June 1st to September 7th, 2025, at La Castiglia, Saluzzo (TO), Italy.

Developed as part of Start Saluzzo – Arte 2025 for the 17th edition of “Saluzzo Contemporanea”, the project embodies the union between technical progress and artistic development. On display will be some of the most iconic examples of objects that have shaped the history of Italian design and technological excellence, alongside works by contemporary artists inspired by similar values. The selection comes from Pietro Camardella’s CoKama Collection, which includes more than 2,500 pieces of successful Italian technological products created from the post-war period to the present day.

Sintesi a colori invites reflection on the act of creating, exploring the relationships between form and function, intuition and design, while highlighting the value of Italian innovation as a synthesis of culture, aesthetics, and visions of the future.

[002] Nino Migliori. Una storia della fotografia italiana

尼诺˙米廖礼: 一段意大利摄影史话 Nino Migliori. Una storia della fotografia italiana,  is an exhibition curated by Alessandro Carrer and Clemente Miccichè, on view from March 7 to April 20, 2025, at the Xi’an Art Museum in Xi’an, China.

To celebrate the work of the artist who has helped shape a chapter of our country's history through light, the Fondazione Garuzzo has conceived this major retrospective, which for the first time presents Nino Migliori’s work in China.

The exhibition brings 194 works to Xi’an, covering a large part of the Bolognese photographer’s career—from his early days to the present, spanning realist series, experimental approaches, and research connected to European Informalism, up to his most recent works.

The exhibition has been made possible thanks to the collaboration between the Fondazione Garuzzo and the Fondazione Nino Migliori, with the support of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Embassy of Italy in China, Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Pechino and Chinese institutions, as well as the contribution of the Fondazione MAST and Flyren Energy Group.

The exhibition’s visual identity showcases Nino Migliori’s images as fragments of a larger mosaic, revealing only part of his intricate artistic production. This reflects his experimental process, where he alters photographs through abrasions, collages, or cuts, turning them into entirely new works. The selected images are never fully shown; instead, they offer glimpses and hints, sparking the viewers’ curiosity.

[003] Cartografie percettive

Cartografie Percettive is an invitation to observe the foundational elements of our imagination and the actions they influence. The image evokes within itself the symptom of an almost pre-archaic form, focusing not only on the contemporary but also confronting us with its complexity. Perceiving the image, therefore, becomes a performative act.

This book is a sensory journey where the body continuously moves toward the imag. Yet the symbols manifesting the invisible ultimately fail to satisfy the tireless attempt to uncover what lies beyond its nature.

Published by Corraini Edizioni, this book is a Master’s thesis project in Photography by Francesca Cugno developed at the Istituto Superiore per le Industrie Artistiche di Urbino (ISIA U), under the supervision of Professor Paola Binante and artist Novella Oliana.

The project was exhibited during the 11th edition of Polycopies (November 6-11, 2024), Bateau Concorde-Atlantique, Berges de Seine, Port de Solferino, Paris.

[004] Il Tempo della Comunanza

The exhibition Il Tempo della Comunanza (The Time of Communality) is part of a broader valorization project of the Garuzzo Foundation’s Exhibition and Permanent Collection, titled Diaoghi e altri sguardi (Dialogues and other gazes).

The initiative aims to explore the various ways in which the concept of “community” can manifest, entrusting external curators with the task of selecting different artists to engage in a dialogue with the works of the Permanent Collection.

Il Tempo della Comunanza explore the concept of Koinotes – a term coined by the anthropologist Adriano Favole – understood as a new practice of coexistence based on sharing, similarity, communion, and participation among all living beings.

The visual identity is inspired by the organic structure of mycelium, a rhizomatic network that suggests new perspectives and ways of connecting. This visual approach echoes the themes of the exhibition, such as the interrelationship and exchange between different artistic visions.

[005] Nessun Dorma

On the occasion of the new edition of StArt/art dedicated to the theme of Essentiality, the Garuzzo Foundation presents Nessun Dorma, a site-specific installation by David Reimondo and Alessandro Sciaraffa. The two artists engaged with the space of the inner courtyard of the Scuola di Alto Perfezionamento musicale, creating a collaborative work: an unprecedented installation produced specifically for Saluzzo’s main cultural event.

Reimondo’s research focuses on the themes of human beings and language. Over the years, he has developed several imaginary formal models from which new communication codes and systems have emerged. On the other hand, Sciaraffa’s work is based on sound and the multiple relationships between matter, space, and time, often combining performance, sculpture, and installation.

The visual identity of the project translates the work of the artists involved by creating an alphabet of signs that intertwine each other and shape a tapestry of new meanings.

[007] Senza essere indelebile

The project emerged from listening and dialoguing with a group of African immigrants residing in Atena Lucana (Italy), exploring the traces found in a particular place cherished by this community: the local football field. Every weekend, the African boys organize a football match, sometimes joined by local residents. The photographic act, focusing on the concept of imprint, investigates the temporality of presence in public spaces. The result is a collection of unstable signs that can no longer be traced back to individual identities.

Published by Altana, the project was realized in June 2021 during the Archivio Atena residency curated by Alessandro Coco and Alessandro Imbriaco.
